When I first joined deviantART, one of my favorite DA artists was Jennadelle. If you don't know her already, she was a rather big deal here. She had distinguished style and used certain design motifs commonly enough that these features belonged to the "Jennadelle" look for her many fans. Whether these aspects of her artwork meant something deeper than their appearance is relatively unknown to me. However, she did seem to have a broad idea churning in her head, something grandiose and mysterious.
Then she just up and vanished. Left deviantART, the internet in general, and stopped most communications, save for her closest friends. I was merely a preteen onlooker at this point so I never heard from her since that moment.
Every now and then I reminisce over old artists who got me through the years. My life as a teenager was rocky at best, and artists like Jennadelle filled my head with fantastical imagery and escape. I have no way to thank her, so this is a drawing inspired by the memories she provided. Thank you, Jennadelle.
If there's any sort of drama in relation to this, I'm totally unaware of it. I was, back then, pretty oblivious to the craziness of people.
art (C) Kezrek 2012 - do not use style inspired by Jennadelle
I remember waaay back when I joined dA and Jennadelle was picking up speed (her, along with many other old artists I haven't followed up on for some time). Good memories when things seemed simpler and I could spend more time just taking in and admiring fresh work from other people.
This piece is astounding, and very sentimental! I was a teen as well when I found Jennadelle's DA gallery many years ago. To this day, I don't think I've had an artist that left such a profound effect on me like she did. Her creatures and style had such unique character. From this, I remember always wanting a commissioned piece from Jenna; I was lucky enough to get one a short while she left the internets. I cherish it to this day, and the fond memories she created with her art.
I too was a teenage fan of Jennadelle and she really inspired me a lot. I'm so distraught that her works are no longer up, because now that I am in my 20's and my artistic skills have changed and improved, I want to look at her work again to see how it inspires me now. Plus I just love her ideas and concepts. Back then I had never seen anything like her work and to this day she still remains, in my mind, so original. All I have left of her is what's in my memory, but I'm glad I got to experience her and her artwork; it's better than never experiencing it at all.
you know what prolly happened? She prolly got into WoW.. I always stop drawing for long periods of time when i start playing. It has claimed her as it has claimed many others O_O
stunning work. I'll always love fantastic draconic beasts in a post apocalyptic setting.
As for Jenna I have noting good to say about her, so I guess I'll keep my mouth shut. Yes there was drama and it dragged on for years, be glad you missed it, I sure wish I did.
